December 28th -- Driving around looking at the Christmas lights on houses
Some of you may already know this since I made a pattern inspired by this -- one of my favorite things to do during the Christmas season is drive around looking at all the Christmas lights on houses. Of course, it helps to this once it gets pretty dark which in winter is anytime after 4:30pm where I live. This used to be a tradition that my parents, siblings, and I would have growing up, but as we all grew older we kind of grew apart from doing this each year. When my boyfriend Antonio and I got together -- we both really love Christmas -- we started this tradition back up.
This tradition is so special to me because it helps me to feel like a little kid again, and I am also spending quality time with my favorite person. We drive around as often as we can, several times throughout the Christmas season each year -- sometimes drinking peppermint coffee or hot chocolate -- always listening to Christmas music -- and just enjoy the different decorations and lights that people put around their homes. It's so fun for us to do this even though it's such a small and simple thing. It's some of my favorite Christmas memories and it really helps me to slow down and enjoy the little moments of joy that the Christmas season has to offer.
